Is OpenLatch free?
Section titled “Is OpenLatch free?”Pricing for the platform is being worked out with our design partners, and design-partner pilots are free.
Do I need Node.js?
Section titled “Do I need Node.js?”Only for npx @openlatch/client init, because npx is part of Node.js. The client is a native binary and does not run on Node.js. On a machine without Node.js, run the script for your platform; it needs nothing beyond what the operating system ships:
curl -LsSf https://openlatch.ai/install.sh | shpowershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -c "irm https://openlatch.ai/install.ps1 | iex"See Install the client.
Which agents does OpenLatch cover?
Section titled “Which agents does OpenLatch cover?”Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor and Cline are wired today. Coverage is stated per agent and per plane: Control levels shows which plane is Enforced, Monitored or Observed for each one.
What data does the client send to the platform?
Section titled “What data does the client send to the platform?”After each decision, the client sends the record of the action and its verdict: what the agent tried to do, such as a command, a file path or a network destination, and what was decided. Credentials are redacted on the machine before anything leaves it. See Privacy and telemetry.
Can I use OpenLatch offline?
Section titled “Can I use OpenLatch offline?”Yes. The client decides on the machine against its resident policy bundle, which keeps deciding with the network unplugged. Fetching new policy and sending records to the platform need a connection; deciding does not.
Does OpenLatch slow my agent down?
Section titled “Does OpenLatch slow my agent down?”The client decides on the machine, from a policy bundle it holds in memory, so the agent never waits on the network for a verdict. Records go to the platform afterwards.
Can I host the platform myself?
Section titled “Can I host the platform myself?”Not today. The platform runs as a managed service at app.openlatch.ai.
How do I uninstall the client?
Section titled “How do I uninstall the client?”openlatch uninstallThis removes the agent hooks and stops the client. Add --purge to also delete the client’s state, including the ~/.openlatch folder and the credential stored in your keychain.
Neither command removes the binaries: a purge is not an uninstall of the files the install placed. If you installed from a script, openlatch and openlatch-hook stay in ~/.local/bin or %LOCALAPPDATA%\openlatch\bin, and so does the PATH entry. Delete them by hand if you want the machine exactly as it was.
Where do I report a bug or ask for a feature?
Section titled “Where do I report a bug or ask for a feature?”Email us at hello@openlatch.ai.
